There are 2 options to glass engrave using Dremel tools:

Dremel engraver (290): The Dremel engraver works with strokes and comes in a kit with a Carbide engraving tip. Select one of five depth levels on the tool and start engraving.

Dremel multitool: For fine engraving use a diamond wheel point accessory. There are 7 different sizes and shapes. When filling in a design we suggest the use of Silicon Carbide Grinding Stones which are available in 6 different sizes and shapes.

There is no fixed answer to this question. The runtime of a cordless tool depends on the battery type (NiCad or Li-ion), the type of application (e.g. light polishing or heavy cutting) and the tool model (Stylus,7700, 8000 and 8200). We have designed our tools in such a way that the average battery life of each tool is matched with the most frequent type of applications for each model.

The differences in the tools are performance and versatility. The 200-Series is the entry level dual speed Dremel multitool with which you can do basic DIY and hobby craft tasks. The 3000-Series is the variable speed all-rounder and the 4000 is the top of the line high performance multitool with which you can use for the more demanding task.

Yes. All Dremel attachments and accessories which are available in your country work on these three tools. If you have an older Dremel tool or an older type of attachment, it might be that you need an adapter to connect the tool and attachment. You can see here if you need an adapter. Adapters can be ordered via Dremel customer service.

Motor brushes work like oil in your car. The motor brushes are located in the brush holder, under the brush doors on each side of the tool (please check your tool instruction manual for more details). The brushes should be checked every 50 hours the tool has been in use. If the brushes are shorter than 3mm, they need to be changed. After changing motor brushes, the tool should be “run–in” at maximum speed for 5-10 minutes with no load. This will seat the new motor brushes.

Yes. The new EZ twist nose cap has been designed to fit all our current rotary tools except for the 7700

Yes. The 7700 has a 7.2 volt rechargeable NiCad battery pack. The 8100 and 8200 both have rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery packs. The advantage of Lithium-Ion batteries is that they keep their electrical charge much longer and they do not have the so called “memory effect”, so you can charge the battery whenever you want.

Both the 7700 and 8100 tools have 7.2 volt batteries. However, the 8100 has a Li-ion battery and the 7700 has NiCad battery technology. The NiCad battery of the 7700 is slim and connects to a small battery charger. The advantage of the Li-ion battery is that it chargers faster and it is compact.

SpeedClic assortment

There are 2 methods of attaching accessories to the multitool:

Collets: There are 4 different collet sizes (0,8 / 1,6 / 2,4 / 3,2mm). Accessory shanks have 4 different diameters that will require the use of one of the collets. Your Dremel tool will have been supplied with the 3,2mm collet. If you purchase an accessory with a smaller shank you need to also purchase the proper collet size. The collets can be purchased as a set including all collet sizes or as individual collets.

Multichuck: If you have the Multichuck (4486) you don’t need to use collets, the multichuck fits all Genuine Dremel accessories with shank sizes from 0,4 up to 3,4mm. It works like a regular drill chuck and you don’t need to tighten it more than hand tight.

Yes and no. All Dremel attachments can be connected to Dremel Multi-Tools. But not all combinations of tool and attachment will work optimally. You can see here which tool will work with what attachment.

Older attachments like the plunge router, router/shaper table and drill station have a different way of connecting the tool to the attachment. If you have one of these three attachments you can order an adapter at your local customer service. With this adapter your attachment can connect to your new Dremel multitool. You can see here if you need an adapter.

The Multi-Max accessory screw uses a 5mm hex wrench.

The accessory screw is an M6 x 1 machine screw that is 18mm long.

Reduce the speed setting on the tool. We suggest not exceeding a speed setting of 7 (or 18,000 Oscillations Per Minute (OPM) on the Multi-Max tool for this accessory.

The MM300 Multi-Max Universal Adapter allows the owners of other brand oscillating tools to use genuine Dremel brand oscillating accessories on their oscillating tools. The Fein Multi-Master 636 is compatible with Multi-Max accessories without the use of the Dremel MM300 Universal Adapter. You should never try to use other brand accessories on your Multi-Max oscillating tool.

The Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool System is a compact, yet full-featured tool. The new Dremel Multi-Max MM40 and MM20’s increased power and capabilities allow both DIY enthusiasts and professionals to comfortably and easily tackle new applications.

While both the Dremel Multi-Max MM40 and MM20 are compact, versatile, ergonomic and precise, and deliver a higher level of performance than the brand’s original Multi-Max tools, they differ in power as well as available features.

Both tools possess a variable speed range of 10,000 - 21,000 oscillations per minute (OPM), a separate on/off switch and speed control dial as well as the Dremel brand’s Quick Fit accessory interface. However, the Dremel Multi-Max MM40’s enhanced features make it fit for heavy duty use.

Dremel Multi-Max MM40’s additional features include:

With the exception of the MM720 Multi-Flex and the MM300 adapter all Dremel oscillating accessories are compatible with all tool models. These two items are exclusive to the 8300 and the MM20 tool models.

Both the Dremel Multi-Max MM40 and MM20 can be used to tackle a wider variety of projects more efficiently than previous Dremel oscillating tools due to their increased power and enhanced design. These tools are perfect for repairing, remodeling and restoring faster and are better equipped for heavy use over an extended period of time. For example, they can make thicker and wider cuts such as notching wooden beams to build deck stairs.

Dremel brand oscillating accessories may be used on other brands of oscillating tools with the use of the Dremel Multi-Max Universal Adapter MM300. The only exception is the MM720 Multi-Flex attachment which is exclusive to the Dremel oscillating tools.

No. Due to its unique collet size, the TRIO can be used only with accessories that have been specially developed for this tool. Trio accessories can be recognised by the TRIO logo on the packaging.

No. The Dremel TRIO accessories have a 4.8mm shank diameter which cannot be used in Dremel multitools.

You can obtain replacements of these parts from your local customer service.

If you are using a low temp colour or glitter glue stick, the glue may loose its colour pigments. Also, the high temperature will make your low temperature glue too liquid which will also result in a dripping glue gun.

If you are using a low temp colour or glitter glue stick, the glue may loose its colour pigments. Also, the high temperature will make your low temperature glue too liquid which will also result in a dripping glue gun.

Depends on the usage, in general it takes about five minutes before the glue in its chamber cools down. But the Gluegun needs power to heat more glue and refill it's chamber.

There are only two accessories, the replaceable engraving tips. They are the #9924 carbide tip and #9929 diamond tip. The accessories that fit in the Dremel multitools will not work in this tool.

The carbide point will work well for general purpose engraving in most materials. If you have an application that will require continuous work or is in much more brittle material like glass, the diamond tip is designed to handle harder loads for a longer time. It will provide the same cut but will withstand harder materials and/or longer use on ordinary materials. The diamond tip is not suitable for engraving on steel.
Accessory Finder

There is a little screw on the side of the tool where the point meets the housing of the tool. By loosening that screw it is very easy to replace the tip.

The gas used for the Versatip and Versaflame is regular butane gas. This is the same gas that is used for cigarette lighters. Due to legal matters Dremel does not commercialise the gas. Butane gas can be easily found at traditional tool shops and dedicated tobacco stores. Follow the instruction manual on how to refill the tank.

The Versatip is used for soft soldering applications and pyrography. It’s pen-shape makes it very comfortable to use for precise jobs. It also includes more tips than the Versaflame, so it can be used for broader applications.
The Versaflame is used for more general soldering work. It can be used as a soldering iron as well as an open flame stationary torch.
Both tools can reach a temperature of up to 1200°C, depending on the accessory used. The difference between the 2 tools is that the Versaflame has a higher energy output, so you can heat-up more material in a shorter time.

ALLOW TOOL TO COOL FULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS

A. You can hear the gas flowing when you switch the tool on but it does not ignite.

This could be because there is no spark coming from the Versatip. In order to correct this please ensure the Metal Flame Guard (A) is correctly and tightly secured. This will ensure connection to the metal pin (B) which generates the spark. Do not touch the Versatip until it has been cooled down completely.




ALLOW TOOL TO COOL FULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS

B. You do not hear any gas flowing when you switch the tool on.

This could be because the nozzle has become blocked by liquid butane. The most common cause of a blocked nozzle is overfilling of the tank. The tank is full when liquid butane gas escapes from the filling valve. Once this happens please stop refilling the gas to avoid overfilling of the tank. Please refer to the (RE)FILLING THE TANK section of the Versatip manual for more details.

3. Remove Nozzle with a set of pliers and allow the liquid butane inside the nozzle to vaporise by holding the nozzle for 30 seconds and then reassemble the components.




C. If your Versatip is still not functioning correctly then the most likely cause is a fully blocked nozzle. This can be as a result of butane gas impurities or due to environmental factors such as dust. A replacement nozzle (Part Number – 2 610 397 235) can be ordered through your local Dremel service centre. Details can be found on the customer service centre section of the Dremel website.

The Dremel DSM20 is an extremely powerful and compact hand-held saw. It allows users to easily perform straight, plunge, flush and miter cuts in a variety of materials.

Yes. The DSM20 currently has five different accessories for you to choose from. These allow the user to cut in a wide variety of materials.

The DSM20 offers a maximum depth of cut of 20mm.

No. The DSM20 is a very unique tool to Dremel, and therefore requires very unique accessories. Other Dremel accessories are also not compatible with the DSM20.

A plunge cut is when you cut right into the middle of the material. This is particularly convenient with the DSM20, since its cutting wheels do not have teeth, but abrasive grit, ensuring a smooth dive into the material. In addition to that, the spring loaded foot helps you to plunge cut into the material precise and safe. Flush cutting is possible with the DSM600 Multipurpose Cutting Wheel. This special accessory is an offset wheel with dome shape allowing you to cut at surface level. A rip cut is a straight cut-off of a piece of material, usually parallel with the grain (in wood).

The Moto-Saw is a compact and very easy to use 2 in 1 scroll saw. It can be used either in stationary mode, when the tool is docked in its base or in handheld mode. With its different blades this tool can easily perform precise straight and curved cuts in different materials including soft wood, hard wood, composite boards, laminate, PVC or soft sheet metal.

The Moto-Saw offers a number of benefits over traditional scroll saws that makes it attractive for small scale creative hands-on projects. Unlike grown up scroll saws, the Moto-Saw is very compact , therefore it is easy to store. Furthermore, no wrenches or keys are needed to fix and tighten the accessories thanks to the keyless blade change and automatic blade tensioning mechanism.
Another key benefit is the dual functioning capability: there is no other scroll saw on the market which can be used either as a bench top product or as a handheld coping (fret) saw.
Important to know that there are certain features that many traditional scroll saws have, but the Moto-Saw does not. These include: a tilting base, LED, dust blower (the Moto-Saw has a connection which can be connected to regular vacuum cleaners).

18mm in soft wood. Bear in mind, this is the maximum capability, and you need to be careful when cutting this depth to avoid breaking the saw blades. Cutting capacity per blade: MS51 - wood: 18mm, MS52 - wood: 12.5mm, MS53 – soft sheet metal: 3mm.

No. The Moto-Saw has its own system of accessories.

The tool can be removed from its docking station with the help of the release button found on the docking station. Keep this button pressed while you firmly pull up and backwards the tool itself.

With the provided clamps the maximum thickness of the surface you the Moto-Saw can be attached to is 70mm.

In case you prefer to fix your docking station permanently to a work bench or other surfaces, you can do that by fixing the station with two regular screws through these holes.

Yes. It does not matter whether the teeth are facing towards you or against you when you are standing in front of the fixed tool. What is important is that the teeth of the blade are facing downwards (as indicated on the tool).

Since the Moto-Saw uses very thin, delicate blades, it is very important to understand that you need to let the blade cut for you. Do not force the blades by pushing your material hard, since this will result in an early blade snapping. The best is to gently guide your work piece through the blades and let it cut the material. Make sure to attach a vacuum cleaner to your Moto-Saw since this will get out the dust from your line of cut, making it easier for your blades.

Yes. The flexible shaft and the hand piece become warm during use; therefore, the grease inside becomes more fluid. Make sure that the hand piece is not hanging downwards after use to avoid the grease dripping out.

No. To lubricate your flexible shaft use regular ball bearing grease.
HINT: in order to prolong the life of your tool, make sure that its flexible shaft is regularly greased.

The Dremel Forti-Flex has a fully adjustable chuck interface (up to 4mm) for accessories and so can fit any current Dremel Multitool accessory of any mandrel size without the use of multiple collets. The Dremel Forti-Flex should not be used with Dremel Trio accessories as these 4.8mm mandrels are too big for the Forti-Flex chuck. Dremel Multi-Max, Engraver and VersaTip/VersaFlame accessories are also not compatible.
